About

Laurel Jarvis

Riding and competing horses for nearly twenty years, I started taking photos for fun. Eventually I started getting invited to venues to cover shows and became a co-founder of RingSide Media.

Graduating from the University of Guelph in 2019 with degrees in Psychology and Classical Studies, I have been working with a number of departments within the university covering events from sporting games to convocation.

When I’m not covering events, I’m usually hanging out with my Nova Scotia Duck Toller, Adler or heading out to a comedy show.

Community

One important piece of my work is making sure I give back to the community. Whether through the photo sponsorship marketing program, donating a portion of sales, creating a viral hashtag, or donating photographic coverage, each year I work to support the community and give back at every opportunity.

Organizations who have benefited in previous years include
2015 - LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society
2016 - Donkey Sanctuary of Canada
2017 - The Equestrian Association for the Disabled (T.E.A.D)
2019 - McFadden’s Movement Ball Hockey Tournament
2020 - For The Herd
2021 - Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) & Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)
2022 - Canadian Cancer Society

If you have or know of any local charity of events, my availability is limited but please reach out if you’re interested in photographic coverage for a reduced or zero fee.
